Plain-language privacy

Your memories stay yours.

Flashback needs a few details to run a private party game. We do not sell personal information, run third-party ads, or publish your camera roll. If you allow Apple's tracking permission, we use Apple Ads attribution with purchase results to measure our own marketing; every game feature remains available if you decline.

The short versionYou choose every photo or video before upload. Room media is encrypted in transit and at rest, visible only to authorized room participants while the game is active, and automatically deleted within one hour after the game ends or when the room expires.

Information we process

Selected media: only photos and videos you explicitly approve for a room, plus basic file details needed to display them.
Game information: your chosen display name, room participation, guesses, reactions, scores, and room controls.
Device and purchase information: an anonymous installation identifier, StoreKit product and transaction details, subscription entitlement status, and storefront price information.
Attribution and diagnostics: Apple Ads attribution, your tracking-permission choice, request identifiers, IP-derived security signals, and limited technical logs used to secure and operate the service.
Support: information you include if you email us.

How we use it

We use this information to create and secure private rooms, deliver media to authorized players, calculate game results, process and restore purchases, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, answer support requests, analyze purchase and campaign performance, and understand whether our Apple Ads marketing is effective.

If you consent through App Tracking Transparency, Apple can provide more detailed Apple Ads attribution. RevenueCat can associate that attribution with its anonymous customer record and purchase lifecycle so we can measure campaign effectiveness. If you decline, only Apple's standard privacy-preserving attribution is used and no game feature is restricted. We do not use this information to show third-party ads.

Sharing and service providers

We use Apple for App Store purchases and attribution, RevenueCat for subscription and entitlement management, and Cloudflare for hosting, storage, security, and delivery. These providers process information for us under their own privacy terms. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users and the service.

Retention and deletion

Room media and room-identifying game records are deleted automatically within one hour after a completed game and no later than the room's 24-hour expiry. Pending uploads that are not completed expire earlier. Purchase records may be retained by Apple and RevenueCat for entitlement, tax, fraud, and legal purposes. Limited attribution and operational records are retained only as needed for measurement, security, and legal obligations.

Your choices

You can use limited photo-library access, reject individual suggestions, remove your own media during a game, decline Apple tracking permission, manage subscriptions in Apple Settings, and contact us to request access to or deletion of information associated with your installation or support request. Flashback does not require an account.

Children

Flashback is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit personal information or media belonging to someone who has not agreed to its use in your private room.
